AI Mock Interview Practice
Fluently’s AI mock interview practice is for job seekers interviewing in English who want to hear how their spoken answers hold up. It starts on this page, in your browser: choose screening, behavioral or job-specific questions, answer out loud, and after each answer see its length, pace and filler words with a coach’s note. No account, download or payment is needed for this warm-up. Feedback on the English itself, pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar, comes from the full interview in the Fluently app on iOS and Android.
Interview type
Five questions, each with a follow-up. The interviewer reads them aloud — answer out loud, and we’ll check your length, pace and filler words. This page stores nothing; transcription goes through your browser’s speech service.
Set up your mock interview
The practice tool above has two controls, and both change the questions you get. Interview type picks the pool: Screening classics, Behavioral or Job-specific. Choosing Job-specific opens a second control, Your field, with six options. Every session draws five questions from the chosen pool at random, and each question carries a follow-up the interviewer asks after your answer.
The default is Screening classics, so one press of Start the interview begins a screening round. The tool collects no job description, résumé or profile: questions are fixed per type and field, and the page has nothing to type into. The full list of types and fields is in the scenarios table below.
How the mock interview works
A mock interview is a rehearsal of a real one: the same questions, answered out loud, with feedback afterwards. The mock interview practice on this page runs that loop entirely in the browser; five questions with follow-ups take roughly ten to fifteen minutes.
- Choose and start. Pick the interview type, and a field for Job-specific, then press Start the interview. There is no sign-in step.
- Listen to the question. The interviewer reads it aloud through your browser’s speech synthesis. Hear it again replays it.
- Answer out loud. Press Answer out loud; the first time, the browser asks for microphone permission. In Chrome, Edge and Safari a live transcript appears as you speak. You have up to three minutes per answer, then press I’m done. Skip this question moves on without answering.
- Review the answer. You see its length against the target window, pace in words per minute, the filler words caught, the word count, the transcript, and a coach’s note written for that question. Redo this answer repeats the question.
- Take the follow-up. The interviewer pushes back with a second question tied to the first, for example “What would have made you stay?” after “Why are you leaving your current job?”. Answer it or move to the next question.
- Read the summary. After the fifth question you get total speaking time, answers given, average pace and total fillers, with a per-answer list. From there you can practice again or continue in the app.
Two things this page does not do. Follow-ups are written in advance for each question, not generated from what you said. And nothing is saved: a reload starts a fresh session, and there is no history. Account creation, app installation and the subscription happen in the Fluently app, not here.

What Fluently reviews in your answer
Two layers, in two places. The browser tool measures delivery: how long you spoke, how fast, and which fillers slipped in. The Fluently app reviews the English: pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar of the sentences you said.

Not reviewed, on this page or in the app: whether your answer addresses the question and follows a structure such as STAR (the coach’s note describes a strong answer, but nothing scores yours), role-specific terminology (the questions are field-specific, the review is not), and the professional or technical correctness of what you claim.

Voice and data use
Answering on this page uses the speech recognition built into your browser (the Web Speech API). Your voice is transcribed by that browser’s speech service under the browser vendor’s privacy terms, which may involve the vendor’s servers. This page does not record, upload or store audio or transcripts: the transcript exists only on your screen until you leave or restart, and the microphone is on only while Answer out loud is active.
The Fluently app records your speech to produce its feedback. How recordings and transcripts are stored, used and offered for model training, and the setting that controls that use, are set out in the privacy policy.
Feedback limits
The review on this page covers delivery mechanics: length, pace, fillers and word count, plus a written note per question. It is for practice and self-review. Neither this page nor the app grades the content of your answers, checks professional or technical accuracy, or predicts how an interviewer will score you.

Yes. The practice on this page runs without an account, download or payment: choose an interview type, press Start the interview and answer out loud. An account is needed only in the Fluently app, where the interview comes with feedback on your English.

Do I need the Fluently app?
Not for the warm-up here. You need the app for the full interview with feedback on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar, and to practice from your phone. The page and the app are separate: nothing from a browser session carries into the app.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes, for anything beyond hearing the questions. The tool asks for microphone permission when you press Answer out loud; without it, it cannot hear you. Chrome, Edge and Safari transcribe your answer and compute pace and fillers; other browsers time the answer only.
Which interview roles or stages are available?
Three interview types: Screening classics, Behavioral and Job-specific. Job-specific covers six fields, five questions each: Software Engineer, Product Manager, Data Analyst, Marketing, Sales and Customer Support. There is no company-specific mode and no technical or coding round.
What feedback will I receive?
On this page, after every answer: length against a target window, pace in words per minute, the filler words caught, the word count, your transcript and a coach’s note for that question. Does Fluently evaluate the professional accuracy of my answer?
No. Neither the browser tool nor the app checks whether your technical, financial or clinical claims are correct, and neither grades the substance of your career story. The review is about how you deliver the answer in English; judge the content with someone from your field.
