The correction, explained

Μου αρέσει πολύ τα νησιά.Μου αρέσουν πολύ τα νησιά.

With αρέσει, the thing you like is the subject, and the verb agrees with it. Τα νησιά is plural, so μου αρέσει becomes μου αρέσουν.

Get feedback as you speak

The tutor corrects you inside the conversation, not at the end of a lesson. A wrong verb form, an ending that does not agree or an unnatural phrase gets a short correction card while you keep talking; the explanation is in Greek, with a translate button for your own language.

ExampleΑύριο θα τηλεφωνώ στον ιδιοκτήτη για το νοίκι.Αύριο θα τηλεφωνήσω στον ιδιοκτήτη για το νοίκι.

For one action you will complete, Greek puts θα before the perfective form of the verb: θα τηλεφωνήσω. Θα τηλεφωνώ describes an ongoing or repeated action, as in calling every week.

Start at your level

When you struggle, the tutor switches to simpler Greek, and you can say a missing word in your own language. As you manage more, the conversations get longer.

Greek learning FAQ

How do I learn Greek with AI in Fluently?

Install the app, choose Greek as the language you are learning and set your own language, then start talking. Each session is a spoken conversation in modern Greek: the tutor answers, asks follow-up questions on the topic you bring and shows a correction card when a sentence has a wrong verb form or ending, or sounds unnatural.

Can I start as a beginner?

Yes, if you know a few basic phrases. The tutor simplifies its Greek when you struggle, and you can say a missing word in your own language. Practice is spoken from the first session, so learners with no Greek at all may find the first conversations demanding. Fluently is for speaking and has no reading or writing course.

What feedback will I receive?

Correction cards for grammar (verb aspect and endings, gender and case, agreement) and for phrases a Greek speaker would say differently, each with a short explanation in Greek and a translate button. The tutor also suggests words to use, and the session notes keep the corrections for later. The app does not score Greek pronunciation.

Can I try Fluently before subscribing?

Installing the app and the level check at the start are free. Conversations with the tutor are part of a Fluently subscription; when a trial is available, the app shows it before you pay.

Do I need to download the app?

Yes. Greek practice with the AI tutor happens in the Fluently app for iPhone and Android. Use the App Store or Google Play links on this page to install it.

Do I need to read the Greek alphabet to use the tutor?

Not to talk, since the conversation is spoken. Captions and correction cards show Greek in the Greek alphabet, and the translate button turns them into your own language. To read the captions in Greek, learn the alphabet separately.
